Private Wealth Counsel’s Attorney Mark Edward Skandier is a legal expert in the areas of estate planning, asset protection planning, tax planning, and business advice for successful families of all makeups. He is a member of the Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Virgin Islands Bar Associations and practices throughout all three jurisdictions - with meeting locations throughout. Attorney Skandier has been nominated as a Lawyer of Distinction several years in a row.

Born and raised in Methuen, Massachusetts, Mark attended St. John's Prep, where he captained the wrestling team, attained Academic All-American status, and graduated in the National Honor Society. After attending Providence College and UMass, Attorney Skandier taught history, economics, and leadership at Lawrence High School, while coaching local high school wrestling teams.

Mark began his legal career at Vermont Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor and a Business Law Certification. He then worked for a private family office investment company created to serve a well-known billionaire. There, he worked predominantly with trusts, private equity investments, waterfall distributions, Regulation D, and Blue Sky laws. Later, Mark joined a top tax firm in the U.S. Virgin Islands, advising ultra-high-net-worth clients on various tax, business, and trust-related issues. He advised clients on USVI’s tax-incentive programs; corporate formation, governance, and compliance; international banking laws, and estate/tax planning.

In 2016, Mark opened Private Wealth Counsel, PLLC — A Boutique Estate Planning Law Firm, where he has quickly become a “go-to resource” for other financial and legal professionals - including financial planners, CPAs, and other attorneys throughout the country.
